Video game voice actors may strike – Voice acting can normally make or break a story driven game and yet the work and dedication these actors put into their craft can sometimes easily be overlooked by gamers. It now seems like the actors themselves are looking to get a better deal through a possible strike action organised by the Screen Actors Guild in the US.

The strike is over pay and conditions which are currently not at the same level they are in other industries such as film and TV and with massive releases lately such as the hugely cinematic MGS5 and The Taken King Expansion for Destiny which boasts voice actors such as Kiefer Sutherland, Nolan North and Nathan Fillion the strike is well timed. To add my own two cents I respect the work these actors do in games, hell I have no idea if i’d feel the same way about my favorite game series (Mass Effect) without the talent that was employed and I hope there is a quick and fair resolution to the whole situation.

343 Industries already working on Halo 6 – Halo 5 hasn’t even been released yet and already we are getting statements from developers at 343 industries that the next installment of the mammoth franchise is already in active development.

According to Gamesradar the franchise has already been planned out for the next ten years and the next game is in the planning stage and has already had some writing done on it. Here is a quote Gamesradar got from Development director Frank O’Connor

“We do kind of know what’s going to happen in the next game pretty well at this point. We’re doing serious real planning and even some writing on the next game already, and that’s a luxury – we’ve never been in that position before. So we both know at a very high level what’s going to happen in, say, ten years from now. But at that very granular level knowing what’s going to happen in the next game and that’s just been a great feeling for me”.

Star Wars Battlefront has a beta release date – We are a month and a half away from the full release of Dice’s Star Wars Battlefront, yes yes I agree that is a month and a week to long to wait but fear not because this week EA revealed that the open beta for the game will be here on October 8th for next gen and PC platforms.

The announcement was made this week on Playstation’s official blog. The beta will be open to all and will last about four days so be sure to get your fill of Rebel on Empire warfare while it lasts.

Angry Birds film gets its first trailer – Movies are not the main focus of this blog but after seeing this monstrosity I had to link the video here, let me know what you think of the trailer in the comments.

Dragon Age Inquisition will get a Game of The Year Edition – Bioware has said that the third entry in the epic fantasy RPG will get a game of the year edition complete with all the DLC packs and some extra weapons and armour packs.

They have also revealed that the DLC packs will not be on the disk and will need to be downloaded with the aid of content codes. Personally I don’t see the point in buying the game again for a shiny new disk, just download the bloody DLC packs or is it just me?

New Hitman game is delayed to 2016 – IO the developer behind the new Hitman game have revealed the game will now miss its originally slated release date of December 8th and will now need an extra several months of development time before being made available to the public.

Apparently IO are going for a new release model that entails releasing an unfinished game later than they were meant to release a full game and then add more to it through updates over a series of months. How they have come to this kind of model is frankly beyond me but as long as the updates are free and considerably large ill give them the benefit of the doubt for a new Hitman game, for now anyway.
